Another all time favourite of ours is 293 On Komba; built and managed by Marcine of South Africa, 293 offers guests a very relaxed, classy and revitalising holiday. 293 on Komba is the perfect getaway if you're looking for something intimate and private but is also close enough to the village to explore the local culture and do some curio shopping.
What makes a holiday excellent?
An exotic, unspoiled tropical island, with coral reefs, snorkeling and kayaking in the warm clear blue sea. A day long walk in the tropical forest that cloaks the island and seeing lemur, chameleon, ylang ylang, vanilla, cocoa, and stopping to lunch "local" in a small settlement that seems a million miles away.
Meandering through the the nearby rural village, with beautiful crafts, delightful rustic beach restaurants, friendly people and village life.
Most recent improvement is a infinity pool looking over the bay towards the main island and the acquisition of two transparent kayaks! A perfect way to paddle through the crystal clear water viewing turtles and other amazing sea life!
The piece de resistance is Marcine and her paradise that's been built with love, care and detail and her wonderful staff. The setting is postcard stuff, the food and beautiful presentation is divine. Escape to this little unknown island for a quiet breakaway. arrive as tourists and leave as friends 7 days later. Sharing Marcine's paradise is a rare pleasure. That's what makes 293 on Komba excellent!

She is full of great advice and ideas of how to spend your time giving a perfect balance between exploring and relaxing. Nosy Komba is renowned for it's vibey village and very tame lemur population so without a doubt you will have an 'up close and personal' lemur moment. Marcine's kitchen produces mouth-watering meals and afternoons can be spent dozing under the trees on the fabulous day bed or lying in the sun on the little beach just below the lodge. Tea and cake are a daily high light!
Our favourite room is the Ylang Ylang room but all five of her tastefully decorated rooms are a pleasure to stay in. Regret no children under 16.
