Remoteness has a price and when it comes to visiting Madagascar, logistics are key. Planes, cars and boats are often required to reach the pristine and unspoilt areas that Madagascar has to offer. Be prepared!
Before enquiring it is essential that you understand that travelling around Madagascar does not come cheap. The prices we give will include the hire of a 4 x 4, a driver, English Speaking Guide, all fuel, all accommodation, park entrance fees, local guide fees (essential at all parks), meet & greet at airports and meals as requested.
It is NOT easy or advisable to try and attempt travelling around on a DIY or self drive basis. It will take you a lot of time, the hotels/lodges you choose may not be what they seem on the web and drivers/guides and vehicles can be unreliable.
“Harriet saved our trip after Air Madagascar completely destroyed our own plans! She picked up our bookings, understood what we hoped for, liaised with Air Madagascar to make changes to our flights, made fabulous suggestions for an itinerary, arranged great guides and drivers, and made it all happen! She was always available for advice, with instant responses and speedily stepped in to save the day, again, when Air Madagascar cancelled a flight at short notice. The planning and information provided was great, and having everything in such detail in the Trip Plans app made it all so easy.
I can't recommend Harriet and MadagasCaT highly enough! Thank you for a fabulous trip, so many great memories made!“ BD
